WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Officials in Jefferson County say vaccinating everyone for COVID-19 is going to be a lengthy process.
The Jefferson County Board of Legislators met virtually Tuesday night.
Board chair Scott Gray says the vaccination process is more complex than testing is.
He says that about 90,000 doses would have to be administered in Jefferson County to create herd immunity -- and that will take a while.
“And if you look at the amount of testing that we’ve done since April, it’s nowhere near 90,000,” Gray said, “so that will give you the magnitude of what it’s going to take to get this job done.”
Gray says it will be an operation never before seen in Jefferson County.
