MASSENA, N.Y. (WWNY) - Glenden J. Barse, age 56, of Malby Ave. passed away peacefully under the care of his loving family and Hospice after a brief illness. Glenn was born on December 14, 1964 to Clifton and Laura (Donie) Barse in Massena, NY. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.
Calling hours for Glenn, will be held Friday January 15, 2021 at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena from 4:00 pm until the time of services at 7:00 pm with Rev. Jack Down presiding. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery during the spring. Guests are respectfully asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing. Attendance will be monitored controlled to ensure safety for family and friends.
On November 14th 1987, Glenn married the love of his life, best friend, and fishing buddy Lynn Rusaw. Glenn and Lynn enjoyed 33 years of marriage. Glenn is survived by his loving wife Lynn, their children Kaileigh Chambers, Noelle Barse and companion Josh Peets, Tyler Barse of Massena, NY and his two beautiful granddaughters; Mercedes Barse and Harley Chambers who were ‘Papa’s girls’ and held a very special place in his heart. Glenn was a very proud father and Papa, always making time to be with his family.Glenn is also survived by his brother Clifton (Clyde) Barse and companion Patty Jean, his brother Jeremiah Barse and family, his brother Nathan Barse, his nephew Derreck and wife Leslie and their twins Landen and Danyka Barse.Glenn worked hard to support himself and his family, and had the true gift of being a “Mr. Fix-It” to many members of the community. Glenn volunteered for many summers with the Greater Massena Area Soap Box Derby even before he became a “Derby Dad”. Glenn was happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends, or watching his beloved New Orleans Saints.
Glenn was predeceased by his father Clifton, and a nephew Kyle Barse.
