WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - When we think of local food, we usually think of farmers’ markets in warmer months. But there are also options available when it’s colder.
April Bennett is nutrition program manager at Cornell Cooperative Extension. She says there is plenty of local food available.

Among the options are winter squashes, such as acorn, butternut, and spaghetti squashes. There are also root vegetables, including potatoes, beets, and carrots. You can also find cabbages and onions.
In some cases, you can shop online and have the food delivered.
