No new deaths from COVID reported in north country

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - In a winter of pandemic, this is what constitutes good news: no one died from COVID 19 over the last day in Jefferson, Lewis or St. Lawrence counties.
There was another hopeful sign as well; in Lewis County, the number of new cases only went up by four.
Lewis County
As Tuesday’s COVID numbers were released, there was good news from Lewis County.
Only four new cases - and no new deaths - were reported.
The number of hospitalizations ticked up slightly, from six to eight.
In all, Lewis County has reported 1,614 COVID cases since the pandemic began last March. In Lewis County, 107 people re under isolation, 256 people are quarantined, and 25 people have died.
Jefferson County
53 new cases were reported, the most in five days. On the plus side, an additional 20 people recovered, the number of hospitalizations decreased by one, and there were no new deaths.
In all, Jefferson County has seen 4,870 cases of COVID 19 since the pandemic began, and has 292 active cases. There are 25 people hospitalized.
St. Lawrence County
There were 64 new cases in St. Lawrence County. The number of people hospitalized went up by five, to 31, and there were no new deaths.
In all, St. Lawrence County has seen 5,241 cases of COVID, and has 530 active cases.
