CARTHAGE, N.Y. (WWNY) - Today’s sports wrap-up includes a couple high school basketball games and the latest on St. Lawrence men’s college hockey.
In Carthage, the Comets hosted the Copenhagen Golden Knights in boys high school basketball.
In the first quarter, it’s Caleb Ashlaw with the strong move down low for the hoop and foul, putting Carthage down by3.
Off the turnover, it’s Trenton Walker with the lay-in, putting the Comets down just 1.

Copenhagen beats Carthage 62-44.
At Watertown High, the Lady Cyclones hosted carthage.
In the second quarter, Kimmy Dileonardo hits from the baseline, putting the score at 21-12 Carthage.
At the other end, Brooklyn Perrigo connects on the long jumper. Carthage up 11.
It’s Dileonardo from the top of the arc for 3. Watertown’s within 8.
Dileonardo goes glass this time for the 3-ball. The Lady Cyclones are still down 8.

Saints on pause
The St. Lawrence University athletic department announced Thursday that the Saints men’s hockey team is under a pause due to COVID-19.
That means that the Saints’ games scheduled for Friday and Saturday against Clarkson and two games with the Golden Knights scheduled for next Wednesday and Friday have been canceled.
A press release says the Saints will not have time to reschedule the games before the start of the ECAC semifinals on March 19.
The Lady Saints’ ECAC semifinal contest against Clarkson slated for Friday at Appleton Arena at 5 p.m. is not affected and will take place as scheduled.
