WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - A local affordable housing nonprofit held a COVID-19 vaccination clinic Friday morning for its elderly housing units.

Neighbors of Watertown, in conjunction with Kinney Drugs and CitiBus, shuttled senior residents from the Bugbee, Henry Keep and Olympic apartments to their Centennial apartment complex on Washington Street for a first dose of the Moderna vaccine.

Neighbors of Watertown properties director Kevin Burke says this is a huge step for its senior population.

“So, it’s not just about safety, it’s about getting back to a quality of life,” Burke said. “So, anything we can do to help us get there faster will just improve the quality of life for our tenants.”

Burke says in all, 50 residents received their vaccines.
