TOWN OF CHAMPION, N.Y. (WWNY) - Fire damaged a home on Route 126 in the town of Champion overnight Wednesday.

West Carthage Fire Department was first on scene.

Chief Peter Crump says the blaze may have started in the chimney and spread to the attic. That’s where crews knocked it down.

Crump says one person was home at the time.

There are no injuries to report.

According to Crump, the family can’t live there at the moment, but the home is repairable.
