Man accused breaking camera during virtual arraignment on grand larceny charges

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - A 33 year old Rensselaer Falls man is in jail for allegedly stealing items from several vehicles in December.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Julian McLean of 127 Old State Road on Monday.

McLean is accused of stealing more than $1,000 worth of items, including a firearm, from a number of vehicles on Pike Road in the town of Canton in December.

He was charged with:

  • 2 counts of fourth-degree grand larceny
  • third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • petit larceny

During his virtual arraignment, McLean allegedly broke a camera owned by the sheriff’s office. He was then charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.

McLean was ordered held in the county jail without bail due to two prior felony convictions.
