Beverly A. Lalonde, age 89 passed away peacefully at the United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton, NY late Tuesday evening.(Funeral Home)

WADDINGTON, New York (WWNY) - Beverly A. Lalonde, age 89, passed away Tuesday evening (December 7, 2021) at Untied Helpers Maplewood Campus, Canton. Arrangements are under the care of the Phillips Memorial Home in Waddington, NY.

A committal service will be held 11:30 AM in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg, NY on Tuesday December 14, 2021 with RevMsgr. Robert H. Aucoin presiding. A Memorial Mass will be held in the spring of 2022 at the convenience of the family at St. Mary’s Church Waddington.

Beverly was born on April 28, 1932 in Lisbon, NY the daughter of Kenneth and Pearl (Pruner) Dumas. She graduated from Waddington High School in 1949, and Ogdensburg Business School in 1950. On February 3, 1951 she married Donald F. Lalonde at St. Mary’s Church. Donald predeceased her on May 23, 1997. She made her career at ALCOA as a payroll administrator and retired after 33 years of service in 1985. She was a member of the 25 Year Club, American Legion Auxiliary of Waddington and volunteered at Hepburn Library. She was a Sacristan for fifty years and a member of Altar Rosary Society and Family Circle at St. Mary’s Church in Waddington. Beverly enjoyed to knit, and crochet and doing many other crafts. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and especially pinochle with her best friend Edith MacDonald and her family.

She is survived by a sister in-law Alice Dumas, of Waddington, NY, nephews; Keith and wife Kate Dumas, of North Bay, NY; David and wife Nobuko Dumas of Nagano Japan, nieces; Kim and husband Kevin Schultz of Iowa, Sue and husband Ed “Midge” Byrd of Waddington. Great nieces and nephews, Kyle and Kayla Dumas, Erika Dumas, Nathan Byrd, Chris and Cory Schultz, eleven great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins.

She was predeceased by her brothers Keith Dumas and Jay Morgan and a sister Betty who died in infancy, along with a great-nephew, Dana Byrd.
