On Friday, Section 3 announced their decision to move forward with a fall high school sports season for low and moderate risk sports. But the next few days will give more clarity as to if those sports will indeed happen not only at a sectional level, but a local level as well.
A little over a week ago, the University of Alaska Anchorage announced that their men’s college hockey program would be eliminated after the 2020-21 season. It came as a blow to Madrid native and former Clarkson player Matt Curley.
COVID-19 has had a major impact on the college sports world, and on Wednesday, a Division 1 Men’s Hockey Team that has local ties to it learned it’s school was shelving it’s program after the upcoming 2020-21 season due to the coronavirus.
