Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Sandy Torres is a Latinx journalist with a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
While at UT Austin, Sandy was part of the student-run television station, TSTV, where she anchored and reported. She also worked as a communications fellow for the Texas Public Utilities Commission.
Sandy also has experience with podcasting and social media marketing.
Very family-oriented, Sandy comes from Mexican and Honduran roots.
She recently earned her title as vice queen in a Mexican-American beauty pageant: Miss Belleza Mexico USA 2021. Besides modeling, she enjoys traveling, cooking & working out.
In addition to English, Sandy speaks Spanish and German.
Sandy is also a graduate of Bellaire High School located in Houston, Texas.
