Stefanik Faces Protests Over Republican Health Care BillPosted: Updated:
Protesters upset with House Republicans' health care plan rallied against Congresswoman Elise Stefanik Monday.
It happened as Stefanik prepared to tape a community forum at Mountain Lake PBS in Plattsburgh
The protestors spoke out against Stefanik's recent vote to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
Her vote helped the bill to narrowly pass in the House of Representatives. It next goes to the Senate.
Stefanik has consistently said she feels Obamacare is broken.
Protesters expressed concern that the Republican replacement will lead to worse care and fewer people insured.
"We'd die without health care," protester Corky Reinhart said. "Without health insurance and that is what she is making every effort to do to deny us -- that's what her vote did."
Some Stefanik supporters were also on hand.

Mountain Lake shared with 7 News a clip from Stefanik's community forum.
It focuses on the health care issue.
In the clip, a woman named Sara Carpenter, whose husband is fighting cancer and needs medicine that costs thousands of dollars, asked Stefanik what she plans to do about negotiating better prices for life-saving medicines.
You can hear her question and Stefanik's response in the video, which we've edited for timing purposes.
Mountain Lake airs its community forum with the congresswoman Tuesday evening.
