Kid Vision Problems, Diabetes Relief & College Drinking Habits

Vision problems are on the rise among American kids.

The number of American preschoolers with visual impairment is expected to increase by more than 25 percent in coming decades.

That's according to a study in JAMA Ophthalmology.

Researchers say the majority of the vision problems can be treated or prevented, so early intervention is critical.

Natural Diabetes Relief

Resveratrol is a natural compound found in red wine and some foods. It may reduce artery stiffness in some people with Type 2 diabetes. That's according to a new Boston University study.

Artery stiffness can increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Researchers found patients with the highest amount of stiffness benefited the most.

College Drinking Habits

A new study finds college students don't see their own drinking behavior clearly.

Researchers from Oxford Brookes University say the greatest misperceptions were found in males 21 and under -- many of whom consider themselves fun or energetic after drinking alcohol -- while they consider others to be aggressive or out of control.
