A Watertown-based foster care center welcomed a fun addition to its campus on the first day of summer.
The Children's Home of Jefferson County has a new playground for the community to enjoy.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Wednesday. Workers say they want to give kids and their families the opportunity to have fun and play.
"It's been a long time coming," director of foster care Victoria Peck said. "We wanted a playground for many years. Certainly the supports and financial donors in our community made this a reality today."
Peck says the kids are thrilled with the new addition. The project took three years to complete.
The playground is open seven days a week and always during visitation hours.
