JCC Honors 8 For Work With Veterans

They head up groups that work with military veterans and most of them are veterans themselves.

They were honored Friday at a Veterans Day recognition ceremony held at Jefferson Community College.

Eight people were honored for their service, including their work with veterans.

The guest speaker was a Watertown native, retired Air Force Lieutenant General Jack Woodward.

"It is the veteran and not the preacher who has given us freedom of religion. It is the veteran, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press," he said.

All eight honorees were presented a Jefferson Veterans Coin by college President Dr. Ty Stone.
