2 Arrested In Connection With Massena Burglary ProbePosted: Updated:
Two people have been arrested in connection with a burglary investigation involving a mixed martial arts business in St. Lawrence County.
State police charged 39 year old Jason Smith of Massena with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and 29 year old Elizabeth Wickwire of Norfolk with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration.
The arrests stem from a burglary, which occurred on January 24 at the American Killer Bees Muay Thai College in the St. Lawrence Centre Mall in Massena.
While investigators were interviewing a person at Smith’s home in the village of Massena, they found items stolen during the burglary, police said.
Investigators said they recovered a large collection of mixed martial arts training equipment.
Wickwire, described as a known associate of Smith, was arrested for allegedly lying to police about his whereabouts.
She was released on an appearance ticket, returnable in Massena Village Court.
Smith was arraigned in Stockholm Town Court and was ordered held in the county jail without bail due to him having several prior felony convictions.
