SLU Hockey Fans Relieved After Probe Cleared Program

Posted: Updated:

Fans of the St. Lawrence University men's hockey team are relieved and they want the Division I program to move on now that an investigation has cleared it of wrongdoing.

The probe appeared to center on head coach Mark Morris back in December, when allegations of misconduct popped up on social media.

The university hired the law firm OF Bond, Schoeneck and King to investigate.

Lawyers looked over more than 2,000 documents and conducted more than 55 recorded interviews and no major NCAA rules were violated.

The student athletes were in a safe environment and there were no violations tied to financial aid.

The investigation did find one problem: on a Sunday last fall, members of the team were required to watch post-game videos, constituting a minor NCAA violation.

The university says it will report that to the NCAA.
