Thomas C. Corroon, 74, of Clayton and formerly of Brownville, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 4, 2018.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Wednesday, March 7, from 4 - 6pm. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, March 8, at 10:15am followed by the funeral mass celebrated at St. Mary's Church at 11am with Rev. Arthur J. LaBaff, pastor, presiding.
Thom was born in New York City on May 29, 1943, son of Christopher "Kit" and Molly Byrne Corroon. On June 19, 1965 he married Juliette "Judy" LaChance at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, The Bronx, NY. Before the couple moved to the north country, he was a stockbroker for the American Stock Exchange on Wall Street. He retired from Lewis County General Hospital as Director of Marketing. Thom also served six years in the Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 588 in Brownville.
Along with his wife, Judy, Thom is survived by his two children, Juliane Miller and husband, Tom, Alexandria, VA and Christian Corroon, Buffalo, NY; two grandchildren, Simon and Lara Miller; sister, Ann Marie Ferguson, Yonkers, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
One of Thom's greatest loves was cooking and it gave him great joy to share meals he prepared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to volunteer with an agency that feeds people in need, or to donate to your local food pantry.
