A town of Theresa man is accused of hitting his wife in the head and endangering his son while trying to force his way through a door.
Jefferson County sheriff's deputies say 31 year old Richard West allegedly hit his wife over the head with a wooden sign.
Deputies said a sign nearly fell on his son when West allegedly tried to push his way through a bedroom door.
He's charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child under the age of 17.
Deputies say it happened at their Stone Road home Friday night.
West was arraigned in Theresa town court and released to reappear in court later this month.
