A Hammond man faces charges after he allegedly discharged a firearm during a domestic incident and refused to allow his victim to leave.

St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say it happened Sunday at the Conger Road home of 67 year old Erwin Bogardus.

Deputies say he allegedly grabbed the victim, which caused bruises, and fired a weapon. He also prevented the person from leaving the home or calling law enforcement.

Bogardus was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree menacing, and two counts of second-degree harassment.

He was arraigned in Hammond town court and jailed on $1,000 bail.
