Saying Farewell To A Longtime Morning Producer

Saying Farewell To A Longtime Morning Producer

Posted: Updated:

Friday we say farewell to morning show producer Jack Miller.

For the past 19 years Jack has been the man behind the scenes at 7 News This Morning.

He would get to work around 1 a.m. to begin producing the morning newscasts, greet guests, and arrange interviews.

Over the years Jack has developed close relationships with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and charitable organizations.

He's seen dozens of reporters come and go, and after 19 years, he's hanging up his hat in the newsroom to retire to his home on the lake.

"I remember getting a call from a friend, he said channel 7 is changing their morning show producer position from part time, to full time and I should apply -- send your resume today," Jack said.

"That was 19 years ago and I've never looked back," he said. "The owners and the staff at WWNY have been fantastic to work with, I'll miss them all. I'll also miss the people that come in every day for the interview segments, they've been great as well."

News director Scott Atkinson says "Jack has been the eyes and ears of our newsroom in the morning for almost 20 years, and that's a hard thing to replace."

Friday is Jack's last day. We wish him the best in his retirement.
