Watertown kicked off its Fourth of July holiday Tuesday night with a time-honored tradition at Thompson Park.

It was the annual Concert in the Park. The Orchestra of Northern New York entertained the crowd with patriotic tunes and songs from blockbuster movies such as "Jurassic Park" and "Gone with the Wind."

The Double Barrel Blues Band got things warmed up earlier in the evening.

There was plenty of great food, too, including a cookout the benefited the New York State Zoo at the park.

"Love to see the fireworks, love to hear the orchestra, and certainly the excitement of everybody gathering, us being able to, with the volunteers that we have, the great camaraderie here, and giving great food to great people."

7 News anchor Makenzie Piatt was master of ceremonies for the concert. 7 News was a sponsor.

The night wrapped up with a fireworks display.

Other places are having fireworks Wednesday night, including Alexandria Bay, Sackets Harbor, Norwood, and Gouverneur.
