Rapids Lose To Amsterdam; Need Win Tonight To Stay In Playoffs
The Watertown Rapids will play game two of a best-of-three playoff series at home Friday night.
That's after falling to the Amsterdam Mohawks on the road in the first game Thursday night.
The Mohawks defeated the Rapids 7-5.
Despite the loss, the Rapids have played inspired baseball over the last week, something not lost on Coach Dave Anderson.
"It's been incredible, you know, we've been hit with a couple injuries, we've lost a couple players due to injuries, and we still keep finding ways to win and that's just a testament to our guys, their mentality, and how they approach the game," he said.
"We're going to take that mentality through and hopefully have a great crowd of supporters here Friday night."
That game starts at 7 p.m. at the Alex Duffy Fairgrounds.
