A 31 year old Lyons Falls man, who was accused of attacking his boss with a chainsaw, is going to prison.

Kyle Poore was sentenced Friday in Lewis County Court to five years in prison and five years post-release supervision.

He pleaded guilty in May to a felony count of first-degree attempted burglary. Poore was originally indicted on the following charges: third-degree burglary, second-degree assault, fifth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

In February 2017, Poore was accused of brandishing a running chainsaw, breaking into the home of his employer, and using the chainsaw to cut through a bedroom door.

The male victim suffered severe lacerations and tendon damage to his hand, police said.

An order of protection was issued for the victim to be in effect for eight years after Poore's release from prison.
