The warehouse on Lakeview Drive in Dexter is home to ABC-I Corporation, which used to be Venus Manufacturing.
Its 20 or so employees make swimsuits for the brand Venus.
Tuesday night, they found out the business was closing.
"We were all kinda shocked. Wasn't really expecting it," said Sarah Webster, employee.
Company management says the economic climate in New York makes it difficult to remain profitable.
John Gault manages the businesses cutting department.
"Increase in minimum wage, and geez, you can't compete with overseas. Cannot compete. I guess that's the downfall. Cheaper elsewhere," he said.
Gault has worked for the bathing suit manufacturer for 19 years and is one of many long time employees.
"Time for a new beginning I guess - 19 years - 19 years is long enough," he said.
An employee says they were told the business will close by the end of the month.
