Westcott Beaches Closed Again, This Time for Different Reason

Posted: Updated:

The beaches at Westcott Beach State Park were closed again Sunday morning,

This time because a state parks worker said a blue-green algae bloom was spotted.

We're told the beaches are most likely closed for the rest of the day as state park workers have to wait until the bloom clears before any testing can be done.

This is the second time this weekend people were told not to go in the water at Westcott.

On Friday, a water test came back positive for E. Coli. The level was more than double the state standard.

The beaches at Westcott Beach State Park are back open after closing temporarily Friday.

The park opened back up for Saturday once the levels were back down.
