Ogdensburg-Prescott Bridge Reopens After Man Jumped From Span

The Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge was closed to traffic for about 2 hours Thursday night after a man jumped from the span into the St. Lawrence River.

Ontario Provincial Police said the 25 year old Brampton, Ontario man jumped from the Canadian side of the span shortly after 6 p.m.

The incident prompted officials to close the bridge between Johnstown, Ontario on the Canadian side and Ogdensburg on the American side.

The span was reopened to traffic at around 8 p.m. Thursday.

OPP officials said Friday that search teams were continuing to look for the man.
