Watertown Parks and Recreation crews are saying goodbye to summer and getting ready for the winter event season.
At the Watertown Municipal Arena, crews have started flooding the rink - laying down the foundation for a new sheet of ice.
Parks and Rec Superintendent Erin Gardner says it's about a three week-long process to set everything up.
"The crews come in at about 6 in the morning. The process is very scheduled and they work sometimes til 9, 10 or 11 at night to make sure the ice is built," she said.
Gardner says crews are on schedule to have the arena open for public skating and events by this Sunday.
