Lowville Man Pleads Guilty In Robbery, Kidnapping Case

A 26 year old Lowville man, who faced robbery and kidnapping charges, has taken a plea deal.

Jacob Gearhart appeared Wednesday in Jefferson County Court where he pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted robbery.

He also pleaded guilty to second-degree assault in a separate case.

Gearhart faces 5 years in prison when he's sentenced November 19.

In January, Gearhart and an accomplice allegedly held a man against his will at knife-point and robbed him of $100 cash. The man was then released on Route 3, near Great Bend.

He was originally indicted on the following counts:

- second-degree kidnapping
- first-degree robbery
- second-degree robbery
- first-degree unlawful imprisonment
- fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property
- third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
