The north country was protected by the U.S. Navy's newest warship Monday.
The USS Sioux City made its way through the St. Lawrence Seaway at daybreak.
The 378 foot long ship has a crew of 75 sailors and is designed to operate in waters close to shore.
The $362 million ship comes complete with a helipad and aircraft hangar.
After moving through Massena's Eisenhower Lock, the USS Sioux City continued on for Annapolis, Maryland, where it'll be officially commissioned November 17.
