A 24 year old Watertown man, who was injured in what officials called a drug-related shooting, is going to prison.

Howard Brooker was sentenced Friday in Jefferson County Court to two years in prison and 18 months post-release supervision.

He pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted robbery in September.

Brooker was arrested after being shot in the arm in the parking lot near Sears at the Salmon Run Mall in January. He was treated at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and released.

Brooker was later indicted on counts of first and second-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

According to the indictment, he robbed Medine Newkirk of more than $1,000.
