Massena Hospital Nurses Ratify Agreement

The Massena Memorial Hospital says members of the New York State Nurses Association union have ratified of a new one-year collective bargaining agreement with the hospital. 

The MMH Board of Managers is expected to vote on the agreement at its next board meeting on December 17. 

The local Registered Nurses, working at the hospital, ratified the agreement on Wednesday.

The agreement, which affects 97 registered professional nurses at Massena Memorial Hospital, represents a 2 percent increase to wages and benefits, throughout the duration of the contract.

The deal updates health insurance rates, establishes a sign-on bonus and employee referral program, changes method of payment of education differential and updates the seniority list every six months in place of annually. 

The total increased cost of the year term of the contract is valued at more than $124,000.
