MASSENA – Mr. Curtis Francis Joseph Henry Lalonde, 56, of 327 Roosevelt Road, unexpectedly passed away Saturday afternoon, December 29, 2018 at his home.

Curtis was born April 30, 1962 in Cornwall, the son of the late Henry J.M. and Shirley (Tyo) Lalonde and was a graduate of Cornwall Collegiate Vocational School.  On August 16, 1986, he married Kelly Jean St. Hilaire. 

Curtis was a fork lift operator of Walmart Logistics in Cornwall for the past 20 years.  He also owned and operated Lalonde’s Logging in Massena and had previously worked at Farm Boy as a meat cutter.  Curtis enjoyed fishing, cutting trees, working with his horses, reading to his grandchildren, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.  His many friends and family thought of him as “the life of the party” and had a great ability to make others smile and laugh.  Of all his enjoyments, he cherished the times he was able to spend with his family the most.

Curtis is survived by his wife and companion of 37 years, Kelly; his children, Kayla Marie Lalonde and Adam Michael Lalonde, both of Massena; his grandchildren, Cody Austin and Alexandra Isabelle Lalonde; his brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Danielle Lalonde of Cornwall; his niece, Magen Archambault; and many aunts and uncles.

In addition to his parents, Curtis was predeceased by a son, Jason Curtis Lalonde on November 2, 1982. 

Friends may call on Friday 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.  Friends may call Saturday 1:00 -3:00 pm Lahaie and Sullivan Funeral Home, 20 Seventh Street West, Cornwall, where funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM in the memorial chapel.  Burial will be held in the spring in Woodlawn Cemetery, Cornwall.
