Food Blogger's Eats Critiques Growing in Popularity

To put it simply, Lee Hinkleman loves food. And that love is a driving force behind his Facebook blog, 'Eating in Upstate New York and Beyond.'

"It's just a hobby of mine,” Lee says. “I pay for my lunch like anyone else. It's just fun and it's good to promote local, family-owned restaurants."

Since 2015, Lee's hobby has taken him to countless restaurants across the region, and even, as his blog's name suggests, beyond, to the other side of the country and even across the ocean.

Before Lee digs in, he's got to get a perfect picture to share.

Over the years, he's seen his number of followers grow to over 8,000.

"I probably reach about 15,000 hits on every blog post that I do,” Lee says.

Unlike a traditional food critic, Lee doesn't do negative reviews.

"I try to post every Tuesday. If you don't see me post on a Tuesday, that probably means I had a bad meal somewhere,” Lee says. “And I've had restaurants actually change the way they do things by virtue of that alone."
