WWNY, WNYF Remain Off DirecTV

Posted: Updated:

WWNY, the CBS station serving northern New York, and WNYF, the local Fox affiliate, remained off DirecTV Friday afternoon, heading into a busy sports weekend.

No progress was reported Friday between United Communications Corp., (UCC), the parent company of WWNY/WNYF, and DirecTV.

NFL division playoff games are scheduled for Fox Saturday night and for CBS and Fox Sunday afternoon. Station officials urge viewers to make alternate arrangements to view the games. Both stations can be seen using antennas, Spectrum and other cable services, Dish satellite TV, and some online services including CBS All Access (WWNY) and Hulu (WWNY/WNYF).

UCC regrets the disruption in service and is attempting to negotiate with DirecTV in good faith, according to a statement from the company. Company officials urge DirecTV subscribers to call DirecTV at 1-800-531-5000.
