Man Hopes To Reopen Grocery Store, Gas Station

Posted: Updated:

A local man is hoping to reopen a grocery store and gas station on Route 3 in the town of LeRay.

Leroy Burnham owns the building that used to be home to Barbalich's Market.

He wants to renovate the grocery store and gas station and open it once again.

"I have about 20 years of experience in a grocery store. I'm a meat cutter and this place was known for high quality meat. It's kind of a nostalgia and thing; I want to bring it back to what it used to be," said Burnham.

Burnham is currently going through the zoning process.

He hopes to have his site plan approved at a zoning board of appeals meeting on February 6.
