Women Plan To Open New Sackets Harbor RestaurantPosted: Updated:
It's not much to look at now, but the building at 113 West Main Street in Sackets Harbor will soon be transformed into a new restaurant. It's the brainchild of village residents Jamie Hubbard and Jessica Williams.
"The opportunity arose when I met Jamie and we both had the same idea of just opening something that was needed here in the village," said Williams
The Sandwich Bar - that's the name which will soon appear on the building. The restaurant will be open year-round and offer indoor and outdoor seating.
"We plan to specialize, of course, in sandwiches. We've got about ten signature sandwiches. We've got soups. We've got homemade pastries. We're going to do a new take on Rice Krispie treats," said Hubbard.
The pair hopes to stand out from other restaurants in the village by offering something a little more fast-paced and inexpensive.
"We want to start competing with Clayton and other surrounding areas with bringing more people back to the village," said Williams.
Williams and Hubbard also want to host cooking classes and other workshops in the restaurant.
"We just hope for a successful business and a lot of fun along the way," said Hubbard.
There's still plenty of work to be done. The kitchen needs to be put in and the dining area renovated, but the partners are excited to see their idea become a reality.
They plan to open The Sandwich Bar in early April.
