Massena - Tammy Lee Holliday, passed away at her family home, surrounded by her loving and devoted family on Sunday (February 3, 2019) after a long courageous battle. Tammy was 56 years old.
Tammy is survived by her Husband Richard, and their two children, son Cody and Liz Holliday of Chapel Hill, NC, and daughter Allison Holliday and companion Maique Roque of Malone, NY along with her grandchildren Kinsley and Piper Holliday. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Jo O’Geen of Massena, NY, Darlene and Kent Yancik of Tempe, AZ, Loralee Marsh of Durham, NC, and her mother Mary Jeanne Richards of Massena, NY, along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and her baby boy ”Blitz” the dog.
Tammy was predeceased by her father Jerry Richards in 2003, a brother-in-law, Anthony "Tony" O'Geen IV in 2018 and a Ryan Yancik in infancy.
Tammy was born to Jerry and Mary Jeanne (Laneuville) Richards on June 3, 1962 in Massena, NY. She attended Massena schools and graduated from Massena Central High School in 1980. Tammy continued her education by obtaining her Associates degree from Canton ATC in Mechanical Technology. And shortly after, started her career at ALCOA in the machine shop dept. in 1984. She retired after 30 years of service as a maintenance machinist in 2014. She was married to her loving husband Richard Holliday in Massena at St. Joseph’s Church on July 23, 1983.
Tammy was also a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Massena and belonged to the “Read between the Wines Book Club”, 25 year Club at ALCOA, and participated as a driving force when it came to the construction of the ALCOA floats used in Massena Parades for years.
She enjoyed camping, kayaking and boating on the St. Lawrence River. Boating other favorite pastimes included playing cards with her family, working on puzzles with her mother, refinishing antiques she had found on her many outings and her greatest joy of all is spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends and family are welcome to call the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena on Friday February 8, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
A funeral Mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 9, 2019 at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Mark Reilly officiating. A graveside burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
