A First Glimpse Of Changes For Watertown Golf Club

Posted: Updated:

It's the first glimpse of changes to come at Watertown Golf Club.

The new owner, Mike Lundy, laid out a concept design of his plans to the city's planning board on Tuesday.

Lundy wants to rebuild the existing clubhouse, move the pro shop inside and have additional space to host events.

To make it more public-friendly, the new clubhouse will have a visitors center for Thompson Park as well as public rest rooms.

"We want people to use this, whether they play golf or not, we want people to be up there. So by enhancing the public parking lot, working with friends of the park to create a trail head for both hiking and cross country ski trails in the winter, we'd like this to be a 12 month recreation facility," said Lundy.

Lundy says he wants to make the golf course feel more like it is a part of Thompson Park.
