Ice Encases... EverythingPosted: Updated:
Last week it was a big snowstorm, then a big warm-up and now the north country is slipping and sliding its way through a Wednesday.
In downtown Watertown, you could tell which cars had been parked for a while since they were encased in ice.
Many people left work and found out that it wasn't the snow brush they needed; it was the ice scraper.
One man had the job of scraping the sidewalk, trying to make that safe for people cautiously walking by.
"It is Mother Nature at her best. It's very slick. But if you lay down some salt, get some traction, and take your time walking across it," said Eric Lugo, shoveling sidewalks.
"I do hate the ice. I worry about the ice more than the snow. I've lived through the different ice storms we've had so I know what the ice can do," said Debbie Burdick, who was walking on Public Square.
So it's yet another winter element that Mother Nature is throwing during a winter that seems like we're getting a little something of everything.
