This may be hard to believe given the high winds and blowing snow, but the temperature hit a record high Friday in the north country.
According to the National Weather Service, the thermometer at the Watertown International Airport reached 52 degrees between midnight and 3 a.m.
The previous record for February 8 was 50 degrees and that was in 2017.
The normal high temperature for this date is 30 degrees.
Friday afternoon, the thermometer dropped into the 20s and was expected to plunge even further into the evening.
