Winter Storm On The Way; Calm Until Mid-Morning Tuesday

Posted: Updated:

Monday should be a fairly calm day weather-wise, but that changes for the next couple of days.

The north country could see some light snow Monday with highs in the 20s.

There are winter storm warnings, though, for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Warnings for Jefferson, Lewis, and Oswego counties start at 10 a.m. Tuesday and end at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

A warning for St. Lawrence County starts at 1 p.m. Tuesday and ends at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

The snow starts as a general snowfall across the region and develops into lake effect for Jefferson, Lewis, and Oswego counties on Wednesday.

Snow could be heavy at times and could accumulate between a foot and a foot-and-a-half in Jefferson and Lewis counties and a half-foot to a foot in St. Lawrence County.

After that, there's a chance of snow on Thursday and possible mixed precipitation on Friday and Saturday.

Highs will be in the upper-20s and low-30s Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and close to 40 on Friday and Saturday.

There's a chance of snow on Sunday. Highs will be in the 20s.
