A town of Pamelia man is accused of choking a woman and preventing her from leaving her home during a domestic incident late Friday night.

Jefferson County sheriff's deputies say 51 year old Jeffrey Robinson also allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair, hit her with his fist, broke her cell phone, and prevented her from leaving the State Route 37 home before finally allowing her to leave.

Deputies say the woman had an order of protection against him.

Robinson was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree harassment, first-degree criminal contempt, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief.

He was arraigned in LeRay town court and jailed on $5,000 bail.
