Kinney Drugs President Dies At 52

The president of Kinney Drugs has died at the age of 52.

According to the company, James Spencer died Sunday after a long illness.

“Jim was a tremendous leader who absolutely loved retail,” said Bridget-ann Hart, R.Ph., President and CEO of KPH Healthcare Services, Kinney's parent company. “He always challenged himself and his colleagues to be better in business while still preserving our unique culture. He was a friend to all of us and will be sorely missed.” 

Spencer joined Kinney Drugs in 2010 as director of retail operations. He most recently served as executive vice president of administrative support services for KPH Healthcare Services, Inc. and president of Kinney Drugs. For many years, he also served on the board of directors of the
Kinney Drugs Foundation. 

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lisa Spencer, and two daughters, Samantha and Jessica Spencer.
