A driver was ticketed after she lost control of her car and sheared off an ornamental light pole in Watertown Friday morning.
Police say the driver was turning right onto West Main Street from Cooper Street just after 7 a.m. when she veered off the road and smashed into the street light.
The light fell on top of the car. A no-parking sign was also knocked over and dented a car parked in the driveway at 204 West Main Street.
The driver was ticketed for failure to maintain proper lane.
National Grid was at work repairing the pole.
City police and fire department personnel were at the scene.
