3 Charged In Home InvasionPosted: Updated:
Three people face robbery charges following a home invasion in the town of Theresa early Friday morning.
The suspects are:
- Patrick Ponzo, age 33, Albany
- Haley Recor, age 19, 630 Bronson Street, Watertown
- Robert Sawyer, age 32, 614 Philly Courts, Philadelphia, New York
State police were called to 31551 Moon Lake Road shortly after 1 a.m. following a report of a home invasion involving a gun.
Before troopers arrived, the suspects fled the scene in a car, which went off the road. The three suspects then fled on foot.
Police said they found Recor walking along the road. Ponzo was picked up when he returned to the vehicle owner’s home.
Sawyer was found in a heavily wooded area, after a 3 ½ mile track by a trooper and his bloodhound in 4 degree weather. Sawyer was found to be suffering from possible hypothermia and was taken to Samaritan Medical Center where was treated and released.
Police said they found a revolver that was believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.
All three suspects were each charged with:
- Robbery 1st degree
- Burglary 1st degree
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree
- Conspiracy 4th degree
- Menacing 2nd degree
All three suspects were arraigned in Pamelia Town Court.
Recor was sent to the Jefferson County Jail on $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond.
Ponzo and Sawyer are being held without bail.
