There was plenty of state high school basketball action Saturday.

We begin at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse as Lowville takes on Owego in the State Class B Regional Final.

It was Tiffany again, this time taking it to the tin for 2. Gavin MaCaulay with a lane to the bucket. He nets 16 points. Chad Bach with a touchdown pass to Gavin MaCaulay for the layup. Kobe Bogart keeping Owego in the game from beyond the arc. Aidan MaCaulay nails the baseline 3 for the Red Raiders. It was Aidan MaCaulay again, he pours in 15 points. Hudson White with 4 three pointers in the game, he finishes with 12 points. It was White again as Lowville pulls away in the second half. Red Raiders head to the State Final Four in Class B. Final score: Lowville 68 Owego 51.

Joe Girard fights his way inside, restoring the Indians lead 21-20. Jackson Jones hits the sky hook. Final score: Glens Falls 84 Ogdensburg 76.

In the Girls' State Class B Region Final it was Canton vs. Mechanicville. Canton's Gretchen Warner goes back door. Charlie Goverski with the baseline two.  Kelsie Warner for two points, and Mechanicville opened a 16-point lead in the third quarter. But as Mechanicville runs into foul trouble, Canton rallies with Lexi Huiatt for two. Sarah Sieminski passed to Mary Lobdell who drains the three, putting the Bears up by one. In the final four seconds, Canton was up by one, a three-point attempt for the Raiders misses.  Canton gets the rebound and holds on for a 58-57 win and a berth in the New York State Final Four.

In the Class A Regional Final it was Malone against Jamesville-Dewitt. Malone's Hailey Rayville to Madison Ansari for the jumper. Jamesville - Dewitt's Hannah Brooks with the open three.  Jamesville - Dewitt with an early 10-point lead. Andrea Sumida with the layup and Paige Keeler finishes for two. Lilly Loewenguth drives for two.  Jamesville - Dewitt goes on to beat Malone 77-47.

South Jefferson met Norwich in the Girls' State Class B Regional Final. Early on, it was tic tac toe passing and Taylor Scoville finishes down low. Spartans take the early lead. Later in the quarter, Alyssa Stevenson was a force down low all game, 23 points for her and a four point Spartans lead. Jackie Piddock sliced up the Tornado defense throughout the contest, and a nifty finish as she had 17 points on the night. South Jefferson wins 66-59.

In the Boys' State Hockey Semi- finals, Robert Palmer, John Mahoney and Sam Martin scored for Canton but it wasn't enough. Suffern scores 6 second period goals and went on to beat Canton 8 to 3. It was a tough ending, but a great season for the Golden Bears.
