Gouverneur Man Accused Of Waving Pistol In Bar

A Gouverneur man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly waved a stolen handgun inside a bar.

Gouverneur police say 48 year old Derrick Marcellus was reported waving the weapon inside Serendipity Bar Saturday night.

Police say he had a pistol in a pants pocket and some marijuana when they arrested him.

Police say they found out later the gun had been stolen.

Marcellus was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana. 

He was arraigned in Gouverneur town court and released under probation supervision.

The investigation will continue.
