A Mass of Christian Burial for Royce Timothy Bell, age 70, of Ogdensburg will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Notre Dame Church with Rev. John R. Yonkovig officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held at Fox & Murray Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 2-6 P.M. Tim passed away at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home on Saturday, March 9, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Bell of Ogdensburg; son Travis Bell of Ogdensburg; two step-daughters Emily Costa of Somerset, MA and Sarah (David) O’Brien of East Aurora, NY; two brothers Ronald (Nancy) Bell of Ogdensburg, Wayne Michael (Analda) Bell of Ogdensburg; eight grandchildren Zachary, Julia, and Sarah Costa and Margaret, Finn, Owen, Rory, and Kathleen O’Brien; former spouse Sandra (Barber) Bell of Ogdensburg; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Ernest Bell.

Tim was born in Ogdensburg NY, on August 27, 1948, son of the late Douglas & Harriet (Gilbert) Bell. He married Patricia (Dwyer) Bracy on February 12, 1996, Lake Placid, NY.

He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1966 and continued his education at Canton ATC and Empire State College where he received a Bachelor’s Degree. He served in the US Army Reserves and began his employment at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Ogdensburg, in 1968, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ogdensburg Elks Club, CSEA, and was an active parishioner of Notre Dame Church.

Tim was known for his love of life, sense of humor, heartfelt compassion, generosity to others, and devotion to his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, visiting grandchildren, playing cards, reading, and watching sports. He was also an active Kiwanis baseball and Ogdensburg minor hockey coach in his younger years.
