Clayton Welcomes Spring With Annual Boat ShowPosted: Updated:
Set sail for Clayton! At the annual boat show, sellers are showing off the bells and whistles.
"There's a lot of neat features," said Steven Gamble, Gamble Distributors.
One is a 16 seat pontoon boat with a 150 horsepower motor.
There's a bar area and even a pop-up enclosure for a porta potty.
And some go further than that. Another has a bathroom, complete with a toilet and a sink.
Or maybe you're into mood lighting or high tech gadgets, like a built-in flat screen GPS system.
There are all types of watercraft to see this weekend at the Clayton Boat Show - big boats, small boats, fishing boats and jet skis.
Thousands come each year to the event put on by the Chamber of Commerce.
"This is a great way to get out, see what boats are available and sort of get a feel for everything for the upcoming season," said Mike Hooson, chamber of commerce.
While it still feels cold outside, the boat show is always a sign of spring weather coming.
"It's fun, it's kind of our second sign of spring, we know the ice is leaving, people are anxious to get out, see what's out there, new," said Darin Barton, Clayton Marina.
The boat show continues throughout the weekend. 7 News is a sponsor of the event.
